Released in 2020 as a 500-piece limited edition, the [Re]master01 is a reinterpretation – or remaster, as Audemars Piguet puts it – of the reference 1533 from the early 1940s, a watch that was produced in nine examples, of which only three feature the two-tone pink-and-steel case that inspired the [Re]master01. Like almost every collection of the brand, the launch of the [Re]master01 was met with a mixed reception, and it remains to be seen whether the watch will spawn a whole new collection like the first Royal Oak Offshore and Concept or remain a one-off.
