What Does a Complete Service Entail?

A complete service, or overhaul, at Watch Unify restores your watch to its original factory specifications, thus optimising its performance and prolonging its lifespan. The service includes light buffing as well as replacement of standard parts and gaskets (excludes major components).

The steps to a complete service are as follows.

1. External inspection of the whole watch, and identification of damaged components.
2. Detachment of the bracelet or strap from the watch head.
3. Disassembly of the watch head into the crystal, bezel, middle case, crown, movement, and case back.
4. Disassembly of the movement.
5. Cleaning of every movement component (except the dial and hands) in an ultrasonic bath.
6. Drying of every movement component in a specialised dryer.
7. Inspection of every movement component, and identification of points of wear.
8. Replacement of worn movement components with authentic Audemars Piguet parts.
9. Reassembly of the movement, and lubrication of contact points using the best lubricants in the industry.
10. Movement rate adjustment.
11. Movement function testing.
12. Cleaning of the crystal with specialised solutions.
13. Cleaning of other external components – bezel, middle case, crown, case back, and bracelet or buckle – in the ultrasonic bath.
14. Drying of external components in the specialised dryer.
15. Reassembly of the watch head and tightening of the case back.
16. Water resistance testing in reference to model specifications.
17. Accuracy and function testing in several positions over 48 hours.
18. Reattachment of the bracelet or strap and replacement of spring bars.
19. Bracelet clasp check and adjustment, if necessary.
20. Final external and functional inspection of the watch.
