Introduced as a dressier part of the Seamaster collection in 1960 but becoming standalone in 1967, the De Ville prides itself on elegant design while retaining – and occasionally outshining – the technical sophistication present in the sports models that Omega has become famous for. The collection featured the world’s first central tourbillon in 1994, was the first to adopt the legendary Co-Axial escapement – invented by foremost watchmaker George Daniels and sold to Omega – in 1999, and offers some of the brand’s most prestigious models today.
