The first Royal Oak Concept was introduced in 2002 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Royal Oak. While initially a one-off piece meant to test new technologies and designs as well as public reaction – much like concept cars, the Royal Oak Concept was eventually released as a 150-piece limited edition and became a collection dedicated to Audemars Piguet’s most daring designs, including, most infamously, a couple of collaborations with Marvel Comics.
