If a chronograph were designed around versatility, this would be the result. It will take any strap, can be dressed up or down to any desired degree, and is accompanied by the rising reputation of TAG Heuer to boot!
TAG Heuer is quickly becoming the most interesting brand in its price bracket. Not only have they recently revamped their catalogue under new leadership, launching the highly praised Carrera Glassbox, but they even more recently officialised a 10-year partnership with Formula 1, replacing the indomitable Rolex. It is clear that auto racing is a chief and celebrated part of TAG Heuer's identity. Unfortunately, that means that much of their catalogue would not wear well with formal attire. The reference CV2011, however, does not bear that burden. Its silver dial sports a delicate sunburst finish, exuding elegance even in the presence of bold, black chronograph tracks. The present example even comes on the bracelet, whose luxurious five-piece construction and dual finish – like Rolex's Jubilee – lend it an air of sophistication, while its wide centre and bordering links – like Rolex's Oyster – assure us of its sturdiness and sportiness. If a strap is preferred, though, the monochromatic colourway of the timepiece makes it a "strap monster", that is, no strap would look out of place, be it in black alligator for the most formal of events, brown suede for a vintage vibe, or red rubber for a friendly race in one's new Ferrari. Indeed, you would be hard pressed to find a better GADA ("Go Anywhere, Do Anything") watch at the price point, especially with the reputation of TAG Heuer seemingly rising by the day!

The dial, hands, and movement appear flawless. The case and bracelet had been lightly refinished in the past, though this is not conspicuous, and the case exhibits some marks, most of which are not visible at arm's length. The bracelet will fit a maximum wrist circumference of 19 cm.
