Description

The Rolex 6426 stands out for its manual-winding movement, compact 34mm Oyster case and clean no-date dial. It offers a direct connection to traditional Rolex watchmaking, making it a popular choice among collectors of vintage Oyster models.

The Rolex Oyster Precision Reference 6426 features a simple dial design that reflects the classic style of vintage Rolex watches. Depending on the production year, the dial comes in silver, black, blue or grey, with applied baton hour markers and central seconds. The stainless steel Oyster case measures approximately 34mm and features a smooth bezel, screw-down crown and screw-down case back. Rolex fitted the watch with an acrylic crystal that protects the dial. The stainless steel Oyster bracelet completes the design with its familiar three-link construction. Its compact case and clean dial give the watch a simple and understated appearance.

The Rolex 6426 houses a manually wound mechanical movement. Depending on its production period, Rolex fitted the watch with different calibres, including the 1210, 1215 and 1225. The 17-jewel Calibre 1225 is one of the commonly documented versions. The movement powers the hours, minutes and central seconds without a date function. It offers a traditional winding experience, allowing the wearer to wind the crown to keep the watch running. Its slim movement design also gives the 6426 a thinner profile than many automatic Rolex models.

Rolex introduced the Oyster Precision 6426 during the late 1950s, and the model remained in production through several decades. It became known for its simple design, stainless steel Oyster case and manual-winding movement. Rolex produced different dial colours, finishes and marker styles throughout its production run. Some early examples also carried the Oyster Royal name. The 6426 shares its design approach with other classic Oyster models but stands apart through its hand-wound movement and clean, no-date display. Today, it represents an important part of Rolex's vintage collection and offers a glimpse into the brand's simpler watchmaking designs.
