Description

The Rolex GMT-Master 1675 stands out for its iconic Pepsi bezel, dual time zone function, robust construction, and rich aviation heritage, making it a timeless favourite among collectors and travellers alike.

Introduced in 1959, the Rolex GMT-Master 1675 represents a significant milestone in the history of pilot watches. Developed during aviation's golden age, the GMT-Master was created in collaboration with Pan Am Airways to assist pilots and crew in navigating multiple time zones during long-haul flights. The 1675 remained in production for over two decades, making it one of the most enduring models in the Rolex catalogue. Its robust construction, innovative features, and timeless design have made it a favourite among aviators, globetrotters, and watch enthusiasts around the world.

One of the most distinctive features of the GMT-Master 1675 is its dual time zone capability, made possible by a 24-hour hand in combination with a bidirectional rotating bezel. The iconic red and blue "Pepsi" bezel insert serves a practical purpose beyond its aesthetic appeal; it allows wearers to easily distinguish between day and night hours in a second time zone. Early models came with a glossy gilt dial, while later versions featured matte dials with white printing. Additionally, the introduction of crown guards added extra protection to the watch. Over time, the GMT-Master 1675 evolved subtly, resulting in numerous sought-after variations.

The Rolex GMT-Master 1675 features a 40mm stainless steel case and an acrylic crystal. The Rolex Calibre 1570 automatic movement powers it. It includes a date function located at 3 o'clock, which is visible through a cyclops lens. The watch is equipped with an Oyster bracelet and is waterproof up to 100 metres. Known for its precision and durability, the GMT-Master 1675 is not only a highly collectable item but also a functional tool watch that successfully blends vintage charm with practical utility.
